NBA Awards History

The NBA Awards, organized by the National Basketball Association, honors the top Basketball teams and players that had outstanding performance during the previous season. Some of the awards are: MVP (Most Valuable Player), NBA Defensive Player of the Year, NBA Coach of the Year, and NBA Most Improved Player. The ceremony occurs usually on late June, following the NBA Finals.

  • In 2020, Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks was voted the NBA’s Most Valuable Player. He was also voted the Defensive Player of the Year. Having won his 2nd straight MVP award, Antetokounmpo has become the 12th player to earn the honor in consecutive seasons. He also joins Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and LeBron James as the only players to win multiple NBA MVP awards by the age of 25.
