National Cocoa Day History
National Cocoa Day seeks to promote the consumption of the necessary main ingredient of Chocolate. Cocoa has many health benefits including reduced inflammation and lower blood pressure. Due to having flavanols, it has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Cocoa originates from the seeds of the cocoa pods which grow on trees mainly in West African Counties.
Cocoa dates back thousands of years. The Olmec Civilization is credited as the first to produce cocoa in what is now Mexico.
