Trans Day Of Remembrance History

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) seeks to honor the memory of victims that lost their lives due to anti-transgender violence. TDOR helps to draw attention to issues that the transgender community faces. TDOR was started in 1999 by transgender advocate Gwendolyn Ann Smith. It honored the loss of Rita Hester another transgender woman who was killed that year.
