Employee Appreciation Day aims to recognize all the employees around the United States. This day encourages businesses and organizations to plan events and celebrations in recognition of their employee’s performance. It aims to acknowledge their work and let them know they are appreciated.

Employee Appreciation Day was established in 1995 by Recognition Professionals International board member Bob Nelson. It is observed annually on the first Friday of March.
