Batman Day seeks to promote and celebrate the popular comic book character. Batman first appeared in comic books in May 1939. Although the origin of the holiday is unknown, Detective Comics (DC) still hosts Batman-themed celebrations on this day. Batman Day is celebrated on the third Saturday of September.

  • Batman's real name is Bruce Wayne. The name is a combination of two historical figures' names. Bruce comes from the King of Scotland, Robert Bruce. While the American Revolutionary fighter, "Mad" Anthony Wayne inspired his last name.
  • Many actors have played Batman over the years. Some actors include Adam West, Michael Keatonm, Christian Bale, Will Arnett, and Ben Affleck.
