Batman Day is dedicated to celebrating the iconic DC Comics superhero, Batman. This day honors the character's enduring legacy and his significant impact on popular culture. It serves as an occasion for fans to engage with the rich history and diverse media that feature the Caped Crusader. The observance acknowledges Batman's debut in Detective Comics in 1939, recognizing the character's creation by Bob Kane and Bill Finger.

The history of Batman Day is tied to celebrating the character's 75th anniversary in 2014, which initially led to the observance being held on July 23. It was later moved to coincide with major comic conventions and to establish a more consistent date, eventually settling on the third Saturday of September. In America, Batman's enduring appeal stems from his relatable humanistic qualities, as he possesses no superpowers yet consistently fights for justice. Recent years have seen significant events such as the illumination of the Bat-Signal in cities like New York, which is often referred to as Gotham City, and the release of special comic books and merchandise.

In America, Batman Day is observed in various ways. Many fans celebrate by dressing up as Batman or his associated characters.
