International Day of Nowruz History
International Day of Nowruz is a celebration of spring and the new year. It recognizes that this time is one for rebirth and renewal as it occurs during the moment when the Sun moves into Aries at the time of the Spring Equinox. This day has been celebrated for thousands of years and is deeply rooted in traditions of Zoroastrianism.
International Day of Nowruz is believed to have been celebrated since 247 BC. It was officially recognized by the United Nations General Assembly in 2010. It is celebrated annually around March 20th.
