National Nurses Day History
National Nurses Day was first celebrated in 1954. However, it was not until 1982 that the United States President Ronald Reagan proclaimed May 6th National Nurses Day. The observance celebrates the Nurse’s contributions and importance to patients, hospitals, and clinics. Although many might say Nurses do not play the biggest role in healthcare, Nurses transform the environment of hospitals and clinics with their energy and positivity.
