Ghana Independence History

Ghana Independence Day celebrates the country’s independence from the United Kingdom. In 1957, Prime Minister Kwame Nkrumah declared independence. The Minister was an innovator in Africa since Ghana was one of the first countries in the continent to reach independence. In 1957, Nkrumah declared that Ghana’s independence would be worthless if the entire African continent was not liberated. More than 30 African countries were inspired after Ghana’s movement and they would fight for independence in the following decade. Ghana Independence day is celebrated every year on March 6th.
