Bicycle Day History
Bicycle Day celebrates the day Dr. Albert Hoffmann bicycled home on LSD. He is credited with the discovery of LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide). Hoffman was a scientist and a chemist. This day commemorates his bicycle ride home while high on LSD. During the bicycle ride he experienced side effects such as confusion, dizziness, and he felt partially paralyzed. Today people celebrate this day by cycling. This observance is on April 19 every year and often confused with World Bicycle Day on June 3.
