Empathy Day History

Empathy Day seeks to inspire and increase empathy. Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another person. It is placing yourself in someone else’s shoes. It is a key part of what makes us human. This day encourages everyone to increase their empathy. One way this can be done is by reading books. According to empathylab, studies have shown that you are more likely to develop empathy by understanding the emotions and feelings of the characters.

Empathy Day was founded in 2017 by Empathy Lab. It is observed annually at the beginning of June.
