The first Chocolate Chip recipe appeared on the Wakefield’s Tried and True cookbook in 1938. The popularity at the time was enormous. Afterward, chocolate chips grew massively to become what they are today, an indispensable topping on most deserts. National Chocolate Chip Day is observed annually on May 15th.
