K Days Begins History

K Days is a ten day fair and exhibition held in Edmonton, Alberta. This ten day event offers live music, games, and a festival aesthetic. Families are encouraged to participate in scheduled events, eat local dishes, and enjoy festive parades.

K Days was established in 1879 by the Edmonton Agricultural Society. It is observed annually in the last week of July.

K Days Begins Facts & Quotes

K-Days saw over 700,000 guests in 2019.
In 2012, the CEO of the non-profit Northlands conducted a poll to rename the festival from Capital Ex to K-Days. More than 50,000 votes were cast and about 39,000 were for K-Days.
K Days hosted their first Monday Morning Magic event in 1977. This event was created so that children with special needs between the ages of 3 and 12 could enjoy the fair at their own pace. It is a day aimed at making sure everyone can enjoy K Days.
