World Youth Skills Day History
The World Youth Skills Day is an observance sponsored by the United Nations. According to the organization, 16% of the world population, or 1.2 billion people are aged between 15 to 24 years. The day emphasizes the importance of the engagement of young people to a sustainable society and maintaining development. However, young people are three times more likely to be unemployed than adults. Therefore, it is crucial that the employers create more opportunities and raise the inclusion of young people on the work force. The World Youth Skills Day occurs annually on July 15th.
