Bank Holiday is a provincial holiday in Quebec which seeks to commemorate the merging of the Quebec Bank with the Royal Bank of Canada in 1917. The Royal Bank of Canada is one of the largest financial institutions in Canada. It serves over 16 million clients in 50 different countries.

Bank Holiday serves as a time off from work for government and bank employees living in Quebec. This also includes schools. Bank Holiday is observed annually on the 2nd of January.
