Thinking Day History

Thinking Day allows Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world to show appreciation for one another. This day encourages Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to think about all the other Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in the world. It encourages them to offer thanks. This day also aims to address issues affecting young women. It aims to organize fundraisers for the millions of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world.

Thinking Day was established in 1926 at the Fourth Girl Scout International Conference. The 22nd of February was chosen in commemoration of the founder of the Boy Scout movement Lord Baden-Powell and his wife Olave, who was World Chief Guide. It is observed annually on February 22nd.
