According to Volunteering Australia, in 2022, the State/Territory with the highest rate of people who volunteered was:
1) Australian Capital Territory – 30.9%
2) Tasmania – 30.2%
3) Northern Territory – 28.4%
Funded in 1813, the Benevolent Society is Australia’s oldest charity organisation which focuses on providing supporting services for children, families, people with disabilities, and older Australians.
The record for most volunteer participants was set in 2010 when over 6 million people participated in volunteer work for the year. The most popular organisation type was sports and recreation.
