Long Tan Day History

Long Tan Day commemorates the lives of those who served during the 10 years of involvement in the Vietnam War. The Vietnam War was Australia’s longest military engagement in the 20th century. There were about 60,000 Australians who served between 1962 and 1972. Long Tan Day is celebrated annually on August 18th to commemorate the day the battle of Long Tan took place.
