Gravy Day History

Gravy day commemorates the song named How To Make Gravy, by Australian musician Paul Kelly. After releasing the song in 1996, it became more popular than American Christmas carols, and soon became Australia’s unofficial Christmas carol. The song is a story about a prisoner who wrote a letter which detailed his sadness due to not being able to make gravy for his family. Gravy Day is celebrated annually on December 21st, which is the day mentioned at the start of the song.
