Country Music Awards (ACM) History

The Academy of Country Music Awards honor the best country artists of the year. Members of the Academy of Country Music are allowed to vote once for each category. Awards range from Song of the Year to Male and Female Artist of the Year. Some of the more prestigious awards are the Artist of the Decade award and the Entertainer of the Year award.

The Academy of Country Music Awards were established in 1966 by the Academy of Country Music. They are held annually around the first week of April.

The 56th Academy of Country Music Awards was broadcast live on April 18th, 2021 on the CBS television network. The award ceremony will be hosted at three venues in Nashville, Tennessee: the Grand Ole Opry House, the Ryman Auditorium, and the Bluebird Café. Keith Urbans was the host.
In 2021, at the 56th ACM Awards, Jimmie Allen was chosen as the New Male Artist of the Year. Gabby Barrett was chosen as the New Female Artist of the Year.
In 2019, at the 55th ACM Awards, Luke Combs', What You See Is What You Get won the award for Best Album of the Year.
