Today we celebrate the Feast of Michael and All Angels, or Michaelmas, with a Sung Eucharist at 5pm. Celebrated on the 29th September every year, the day is closely associated with autumn and the shortening days. ALT
Happy Michaelmas! It's strange not to be beginning Michaelmas as a student for the first time since 2012. Michaelmas, after which the Autumn term is named, is St Michael's Feast day and he is often depicted defeating a dragon, as in this miniature from the Douce Apocalypse. ALT

Michaelmas Day is a Cristian festival which honours the three Archangels, Michael, Gabriel, Raphael. This day also represents the final day of the harvest season.
