Awful news coming out of Israel this morning on Shabbat and the holiday of Simchat Torah. My thoughts are with those ordinary, innocent people, no doubt on their way to synagogue this morning being attacked for nothing more than being Jewish. Israel was attacked today on a holiday, Simchat Torah, that is meant to be the most joyous day of the year. Instead, it has been a day of tragedy--a day of death and terror. The Israel death count is more than double the deaths on 9/11 corrected for population. I do not know 1/
Today is Simchat Torah, the joyous holiday where Jews celebrate scrolling the Torah back to the beginning and reading it all over again. Today, we also celebrate as Palestinians roll back 75 years of Zionist colonial occupation and open a new chapter in the history of Palestine.
