World Braille Day History

World Braille Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of braille as a way of communication. Braille helps blind and partially sighted people to be able to read the same books, magazines, and newspapers as most people. The name of the technique is named after the inventor of it, Louis Braille. The date of this observance occurs each year on his birthday, January 4th.
