On the anniversary of D-Day, we pay tribute to the brave soldiers who stormed the beaches of Normandy. As freedom and democracy are once again under threat in Europe, let us remember their sacrifice, courage, and heroism and never forget the debt we owe to them.
Today we remember British, Commonwealth and Allied personnel who, 79 years ago, began the liberation of Western Europe from occupation in the largest amphibious operation in history.
