Rosh Hashana, a two-day holiday marking Jewish New Year, begins Friday evening, September 15. Rosh Hashana (literally “head of the year”) launches the year 5784.
The Shofar in the photo was made in anticipation of Rosh Hashana 5704 (1943) by Moshe Winterter from the city of Piotrkow, Poland who was an inmate in the Skarzysko-Kamienna camp and worked in the metal workshop of the armaments factory.
