I may not be dressing up & going to Purim parties but being in the IDF & defending the Jewish people is as close to the original spirit as you get🇮🇱✨️ https://t.co/ZDEm3yJc6P
#Purim celebrates the period when the ancient Persians tried (unsuccessfully) to annihilate the Jews. They failed, in large part, due to the heroism of Queen Esther. Today, all the women of #Iran, courageously fighting back against the evil Ayatollah Khamenei, are Queen Esther! https://t.co/e6kS3qvBEO
This is Annaelle. From a very young age, her dream was to become a soldier to protect and defend Israel. On Purim, the Hebrew carnival, she always dressed up as a soldier while all her friends dressed as a princess. She left her family and friends in Marseille to serve in the IDF https://t.co/8otWrs7H1E
So today, the day before Purim, is called the “fast of Esther”, even though she didn’t fast on this day and it was for 3 days.
Religious Jews are expected to fast today because…they just are.
Tip for faking a fast.
Avoid fragrant foods & carbonated beverages.
Act tired! https://t.co/PkeCJBm4X9
Tomorrow the Jewish people celebrate #Purim, a time when the ancient Persians tried to annihilate the Jews. Today it's #Iran, trying same to destroy the Jewish state, #Israel. Didn't succeed then. Won't now! Not ever! cc. @khamenei_ir https://t.co/8lSBLf6ZuR
Purim isn’t until Tuesday/Wednesday, but children and teenagers across Israel are already rehearsing for the big day!
Check out these adorable costumes 💙 https://t.co/rTm6JzdSlo
Holiday of Purim is two days away, celebrating victory over a tyrant who attacked a people 2500 years ago. The people however fought back with no assistance from anyone else, and won. https://t.co/SSAaeI2KJX
