Tonight I was at the Spanish & Portuguese congregation. Founded in 1768 it is the oldest synagogue in Canada & led by the CSUQ we celebrated Hanukkah there for the 255th consecutive year. And we will be here 255 years from now! Show more

Over the weekend, I threw a Hanukkah party for three of my daughters’ friends and their families who aren’t Jewish. Never in my lifetime has it felt more important to open our home and invite people to experience our customs. Also, I want our daughter to be proud of who she is. Show more
This afternoon I received an email and photo from a long-time friend who isn't Jewish. The photo showed his extended family lighting a Hanukkah menorah to show their solidarity with Jews. It meant so much to me to receive it. I cried when I read it, as I again am writing this. Show more
