'kings birthday' rings hollow to me. I hear it and my mind says 'wrong'
queens birthday had no meaning to me other than being a day off. kings birthday is less than that. an empty echo of a real thing
NZ had a public holiday for 'The Queens Birthday', on the 1st Monday every June despite QEII being born in April. This year we have the 'Kings Birthday'' on 5 June, Charles being born in November.
So we're celebrating the *concept* of monarchs having birthdays? 🤷♂️
Dear Phynations... it's the queens birthday in a matter of hours

Queen's Birthday celebrates the birthday of the current New Zealand monarch. As a constitutional monarchy, the current Queen of New Zealand and the other Commonwealth Realms is Queen Elizabeth II.
