International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day in 2021
International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day remembers the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in 1986. A routine shut down was to be conducted however, due to structural errors with the reactor, a surge was created which resulted in one of the world’s largest chemical explosions.

Last night my 4yo called me in at bedtime to ask the bizarre question, "what color is a nuclear plant explosion?" This morning I woke up and learned today is the 35th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. I have been mildly freaking out about this coincidence all day.
